I’m going to be tough on myself from now until July 4 – no salt and no sugar — at all — ever.
Eating only unprocessed foods, I think the salt part will be easy. I just have to avoid shaking it onto anything. The sugar part though . . . that involves giving up coffee. So I supposed I should say I am giving up salt, sugar and coffee until July 4. There is just something missing in my weight loss program. This month I wanted to lose 10 lbs by July 1, and I’ve lost zero pounds. I need an extra boost, since I’m already moderately exercising and I’m not eating anything that’s even close to being bad in any way.
I’ll report back here after one week to let you know how it has gone.
If it isn’t actually your intent to give up coffee, how do you feel about stevia? Works in my coffee, though I don’t think it tastes quite as good as sugar. I have read that we get a sizable dose of antioxidents from coffee…
Yeah, I do love my coffee, maybe I should try it. Thanks for the suggestion.
Good luck with this! 🙂
Thanks, Mary. So far I think it’s been helpful just to be so conscious of sugar intake. Like making a bigger deal of it keeps it to a minimum.
WOW
Im cheering you on—though I couldnt join you 🙂
Thanks! Progress so far: no salt on any days, a tiny bit of sugar every day (fail! lol) and no coffee. Will try again on sugar tomorrow.
so are you doing no salt or just not adding salt. I tried to do no salt once but everything I went to eat had sodium as an ingrediant
Well, in my case no salt and no added salt are the same thing, since I don’t eat anything processed, or very rarely do I. All of the salt I eat is added by me to plain vegetables.
Good to see you here!
